Rajkot's Gujarat Lions Beat Rising Pune Supergiants by 7 wickets at their Home Ground Rajkot

Rajkot - IPL season 9's debut team Gujarat Lions beat the rival Pune Supergiants by 7 wickets in the 6th match at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium Rajkot. RPS captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected the bat first. 

Gujarat Lions Vs Rising Pune Supergiants

It was the 6th match of IPL season 9 at Khandheri cricket stadium Rajkot, home ground for Gujarat lions. Both teams won the debut match in this season and it was the 2nd match for each of them. In previous match Gujarat Lions had beaten Kings XI Punjab and Rising Pune supergiants beaten Mumbai Indian in first match. 

It was a high voltage cricket match between the both teams at Rajkot. RPS won the toss and elected to bat first. It was an surprise decision by caption MS Dhoni. RPS scored 163 runs in 20 overs with 5 wickets. Faf du Plessis scored the blasting 67 runs in 43 with 5 four and 4 sixes. Kevin piterson had also added a valuable 37 runs in 31 balls. From the bowling side, Ravindra Jadeja and Pravin Tambe were the leading wicket takers with 2 wickets each.

Starting of Gujarat Lions was very good. Super start openers Aron Finch and Brendon McCullum boosted the score by scoring 50 and 49 respectively. Every player played well and lead the Gujarat Lions towards the winning.
